Heres A Quick Tutorial on how you find steam app id's with out knowing them go to the Steam Store Front web page.

store.steampowered.com/

Then use there search bar to find the name of the game you wish to grab the app id of when you open the store page of the game the url link contains the app id like so.

store.steampowered.com/app/400/


Then all you have to do is put it into the Steam Protocol command and enter it in your web browser bar.

for example the steam protocol to launch this game is.

steam://run/400

and to Install The game is.

steam://install/400

Since I'm sure all of you have cracked steam, i'm typing this Alternative Way:
go to "My Games" tab, choose any game you want the AppID of. Right Click, choose "Create Desktop Shortcut". Right click the shortcut, choose Properties, you'll see something like:
"C:\Program Files\Steam\Steam.exe -applaunch 400"
VOILE! 400 is the AppID you want! (400 is the AppID of Portal, i used it as an example)

yes but that method fails if you dont have the game displaying in your grame list or if you dont have it instaled to create a shortcut. the method i use counts for both cracked steam and regular (legit) steam users

i just tried to create a shortcut of a game that's not installed, and it worked. might wanna check it out
