I bought it for about 4 bucks im in lebanon ATM and you cant buy legit copies

Update server is DOWN!
If you have already fully updated the game, open iw4mp.cfg in your main Modern Warfare 2 directory and change enable_updates to 0. If you did not update your game yet, please wait till tomorrow until we can figure out a better way to distribute content actively.

You will need to re-download and re-apply the update! We had technical difficulties. If you have problems updating, use the new updater linked below.

Note: This fixes all errors with the previous updater by actually having a fully operational p2p connection. It should solve download speed issues, if not, your Internet connection is bad.

Instructions:

Extract the files in your root Modern Warfare 2 folder and run iw4mp.exe. This will start the auto-updater and it will download all the necessary files you need. If you experience any problems, use the chatroom link here.

Remember, If you have problems wait until the website is back, and ask you question there!
